Australian Bake Tuna

Easy to prepare appetizer. Serve as an extra side dish for your mains tonight!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup  cheese shredded
  • 1 cup   crushed corn flakes
  • 12 ounces  canned tuna
  • 4 tablespoons   butter, add some of the butter for the top of the casserole
  • 4 tablespoons  flour
  • 2 cups   milk
  • onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup  peas (cooked or frozen)
  •   salt
  •   pepper
  • 1   tomatoes, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup  fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1   lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F

Step 2

Grease an 8x8-inch casserole dish

Step 3

Melt the butter in a pan with medium heat

Step 4

Cook onions until soft but not browned

Step 5

Add flour and blend with onion

Step 6

Ad in milk and stir constantly

Step 7

Boil the mixture for 2 or 3 minutes and then remove from heat

Step 8

Stir in shredded cheese, peas, tuna, salt and pepper.

Step 9

Pour into the casserole and cover with crushed corn flakes and dot with butter

Step 10

Back the mixture for 20-30 minutes

Step 11

Sprinkle parseley over the top of the hot casserole.

Step 12

Garvish with tomato wedges and lemon wedges

Step 13

Serve while hot
