Ingredients

  •   8 eggs
  •   4 cups water
  •   6 tbsps light soy sauce
  •   2 tbsps dark soy sauce
  •   2 star anise
  •   3 tbsps black tea (or 2 teabags, I used 普洱茶葉)
  •   1 cinnamon sticks
  •   1 tsp turbinado (a.k.a raw sugar, or you can use brown sugar)
  •   2 tbsps chinese five-spice powder
  •   2 tbsps coarse salt (or kosher)
  •   1 tbsp freshly ground pepper
